NoKay Ivey Says: "With PACT, I Proved That Government Doesn't Work!"

With my PACT 2.0 program, I promise to work every day as governor to Piss Away Citizens' Trust in our state government and institutions. We need to stop thinking that government can protect us, educate us, and provide water and electricity.

The truth is that government is a failure and government programs don't work.

I proved that as Alabama State Treasurer. Under my conservative leadership, the Alabama Prepaid Affordable College Tuition program program lost over half its value and could very well break the civil and moral contracts made with Alabama parents and students. What better way to show citizens that dependence on government handouts isn't the answer!  Even when those handouts were paid for - in advance.

PACT Proved That Government Is Godless

My stewardship of the Prepaid Affordable College Tuition program also proved another important truth: Government is Godless! For too long, Alabama's government has ignored the Ten Commandments - especially the prohibition on bearing false witness. Years after the PACT board knew the PACT program was underfunded and in financial trouble, I led the effort to launch a $100,000 advertising campaign using the slogan "Prepay A Child's Tuition!"

I later stonewalled the issue with parents, students, and nosy reporters, asserting that the PACT program is neither guaranteed nor prepaid.  No matter what the contracts, public statements, and advertising literature said.

Maybe now citizens will realize that they can't trust government.  That's why I'm running for governor of this great state.

I know government is a failure because it takes one to know one.  Failure, that is.
